Introduction to Creative Writing

August 25 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Have you ever wanted to write, but felt you just weren’t a writer? Have you dabbled in writing but ran into some block or another? Are you already writing but looking to expand your skillset? Then please join us for an easy-going writing workshop focused on demystifying what it means to “be a writer.” You’ll learn tools and concepts that will be the starting point for your path as a writer or help polish the work you’ve already begun.

What to expect: We’ll be writing a lot and then talking about writing. And then digging into what we’ve written to learn all the wonderful things the process of writing teaches us. Please bring your favorite way to write (laptop, journal/pencil, etc) and an open, friendly mind to support yourself and those in attendance as we learn and grow as writers.

Free event. This workshop is designed for individuals 18 or older. Taught by local writer, Adam Gilson.
RSVP to guarantee your spot.
Tip: The Topping Room has a separate entrance than the library. If you are facing the building the door is located on the front of the building on the left side. There is a handicap ramp on the left side of the building if you go down the sidewalk.
Parking: There is free community parking lot located behind the library; additionally. you can pay to park on the street. Be sure to pay at the kiosk to avoid a parking ticket! For more information on parking, downtown follow this link: https://downtownventura.org/park-it-here/
